As he devides his time in between Antwerp and Athens, at both locations ‚the city‘ is a recurring topic, or even playground, for Bram Van Meervelde. His work could be described as a way to rethink the world around him with a twist of humor. He appropriates situations as we know them and transforms everyday objects into absurd additions to our surroundings. This rethinking of his surroundings and the current city-life finds its way into a multi-disciplinary approach where there seems to be no hierarchy between his drawings, installations, paintings and his sculptural objects, which almost look like ready-made interventions.
