With his left hand, the right-handed Lieven Segers painted ‚Chaque matin elle a tout oublié‘ on one of the main buildings of the University Of Antwerp. This playful typography is often revisited by Segers in his text works, where he systematically colors the ‚insides‘ of the letters black (this action is often practiced by students in their textbooks). Every morning she has forgotten it all. The use of the word ‚oublié‘ can’t be an accidental reference to the University itself as a centre for knowledge production. What do we really remember?  The work expands itself as well out of this context and could address a morning-after situation. Lieven Segers triggers bigger stories with a small sentence and playfully presents us with a metaphor for life itself.
